"For my day job, I design robotic fluid handlers and their control software. On the side, I do scientific software development in Cocoa, with two applications available for the iPhone. I'm working on Mac versions of these, as well."

SonoPlot's Microplotters are robotic fluid dispensing systems that act like pen plotters, but on the microscale. They have the ability to print microelectronic circuits or biological microarrays. Learn more
What I did:
"I am the chief architect of the Cocoa-based control software that drives these machines, as well as the vector-based drawing program used to lay out the designs that the machine will print. (This is my day job)"

Molecules is an application for viewing three-dimensional renderings of molecules and manipulating them using your fingers. You can rotate the molecules by moving your finger across the display, zoom in or out by using two-finger pinch gestures, or pan the molecule by moving two fingers across the screen at once.
New molecules can be downloaded from the RCSB Protein Data Bank (http://www.rcsb.org/pdb), an international repository of biological molecules and their 3-D structures. Molecules can be downloaded directly to your handheld device and stored there for later viewing.
Molecules is a BSD-licensed open source project. Learn more
What I did:
"I was the sole designer and coder for the application."

Pi Cubed is a visual math application for the iPhone / iPod touch that lets you perform calculations as you would on a piece of paper. By using an animated, touch-based interface, even the most complex mathematical expressions can be entered and instantly evaluated. These expressions are typeset as they would be in a textbook or on a blackboard. Calculations are displayed with up to 34 digits of decimal precision. Additionally, a library of over 150 equations ships with the application. Learn more
What I did:
"I am the lone developer of this application."
