AllEars is a voice recording and voice recognition tool that lets you navigate up to 99 contacts using speech alone and then send a ‘Voice Email’ to the contact of your choice with only a single tap, who will receive your recording as a multi-platform-compatible audio file attachment. AllEars is also a voice dialer that lets you use speech recognition to select among your contacts and place a call without needing the latest phone. Learn more

OpenEars

OpenEars is an open-source implementation of round-trip English language speech recognition and text-to-speech for the iPhone and iPad using the CMU Pocketsphinx and CMU Flite libraries. Learn more

What I did: "OpenEars makes use of two other open-source libraries of long standing, CMU Pocketsphinx and CMU Flite, which I'm not directly involved with. I designed an iOS API for making use of them on the iPhone, with continuous voice recognition on a background thread, UI hooks, and monitoring of Audio Session states in order to be able to respond to changes in the audio environment, developed it using Core Audio, C, and NSThread among other technologies, created a perl installer for its static libraries, and extensively documented its installation and use."

"Address Book and Calendar Server provides many opportunities for integration. It uses open protocols which can be accessed from many environments. Unfortunately I there is only so much time in the day. I am looking an expanding this project and work on Join venture taking it forward. There are lot's of opportunities to expand into and only so much I can do by myself. I would rather work jointly with people, then hire somebody.

Suggestions and input from others on this project are welcome. I am struggling getting it to the next level and another brain or so would be really good to have on board right now.

Address Book Server Enterprise Edition

With Address Book and Calendar Server you can synchronise your Address Book and iCal with others on the same network as well as over the internet. Contacts are synchronised with your own instance of Address Book Server. Support to also sync calendar events and tasks from iCal has been added in the latest release.

Address Book Server comes in two parts a server and a client. The server should be installed on a centrally accessible Mac. The client goes on every Mac, whose Address Book you would like to synchronise.

During synchronisation contact information is fetched from the ABS server, compared with the local content, and any changes are written back to the server. Changes made via Address Book are synchronised in real-time with the server. Other clients will be brought up-to-date during their next synchronisation. This can either be done by making a change to one of their contacts, manually via System Preferences or on a schedule.

Allows network macs to share the same contacts. The enterprise edition performs the same function as the standard server, but adds SSL support as well as a friendly web interface. Learn more
