A FileMaker database needed to open a door, when certain condition are met, e.g. you have been recognised as a member. The FileMaker call the GateOpener plugin and the plugin send a command to a USB interface (P8055-1 from Velleman) that triggers a relay that opens the gate. A previous version (MacOS 9) was working for over 10 years using a MacIO interface. The new version in MacOS X based.

I designed an iOS API for making use of them on the iPhone, with continuous voice recognition on a background thread, UI hooks, and monitoring of Audio Session states in order to be able to respond to changes in the audio environment, developed it using Core Audio, C, and NSThread among other technologies, created a perl installer for its static libraries, and extensively documented its installation and use."

Bezipped is a file compression and archive utility built on top of the bzip2 command line tool that comes with Mac OS X. In general, Bezipped creates smaller archives than those generated by Finder’s “Compress” functionality.
